Standup order ideas that keep meetings short

By [AUTHOR NAME]Published

Standups drag when nobody knows who is next. Agreeing on an order removes the pause between speakers.

Random order

Spin the whole team once at the start. Everyone sees the order, and nobody is always first or always last.

Other orders that work

  • By board column: start with work closest to done.
  • Round robin: the last speaker picks the next one.
  • Alphabetical on Mondays, random the rest of the week.

Keep it short

  • Show the order on screen for the whole meeting.
  • Park detailed discussions until everyone has spoken.
  • Keep a rough time per person.

Install the app

  1. 1Tap Share at the bottom of the screen

  3. 3Tap Add in the top right cornerAdd

In Chrome on iPhone, Share is in the address bar. The icon appears next to your other apps.

  • Chrome and Edge: the install icon is at the right of the address bar, or in the menu under Install.
  • Safari on Mac: File → Add to Dock.
  • Firefox cannot install sites as apps: open this page in Chrome or Edge.

The app opens in its own window and the wheel spins without internet.
