How to use

  1. Keep the sample prompts or replace them with the ones your class uses.
  2. Spin once for the whole group, or once per reader so everyone answers a different prompt.
  3. Give readers a minute to think before they share, and remove a prompt once it has been used this week.

Ideas and variations

  • Give each guided reading group a different prompt.
  • Use it as a homework reading log question.
  • Spin before a book club discussion.
  • Add your own prompts for poetry or non-fiction.
